vsVolt Time Two Pro vs Alfen Eve Double Plus
Two dual-socket chargers for busy sites. The Two Pro gives both sockets a full 22 kW off one connection, daisy-chains up to six units on a single feed, and runs a flat-band feeder straight down a row. The Alfen Eve Double Plus is future-ready, with bidirectional V2X hardware, but it wires differently: full 2x22 kW needs a double feeder cable, and each unit needs its own mains run. Here is how they really compare.

Where the Two Pro wins
Where the Two Pro fits
- ✓Full power on one connection. Two sockets, each a full 22 kW, from a single 44 kW connection. The Eve Double Plus reaches 2×22 kW only with a double feeder cable; on a single feeder it shares. That is one supply run instead of two.
- ✓One feed for a whole row. Daisy-chain up to six Two Pro units on a single AC feed with dynamic load balancing, and run a flat-band feeder straight down a row of bays. The Alfen needs its own mains feeder to every station.
- ✓Platform in the box. Charger management, smart charging and MID billing run on Plugchoice, included and built by the same team. The Alfen is back-office agnostic: you bring (and usually pay for) a third-party platform.
- ✓Two billing-grade meters. Each socket has its own MID Class B meter, so you bill per parking spot out of the box. Alfen offers MID and an Eichrecht option, a genuine plus for the German market.
Where the Alfen Eve Double Plus makes sense
Credit where it is due: the Eve Double Plus is genuinely future-ready. It is hardware-ready for interoperable bidirectional charging (V2X) to ISO 15118-20, the standard heading for the mainstream from 2027. If you are speccing a site now and want the option to do vehicle-to-grid later without swapping hardware, that is a real, forward-looking reason to choose it, and something the Two Pro does not match today.
Its other strengths are concrete: an IP55, IK10 SMC enclosure, an RCD Type B per socket, a choice of Type 2 socket, shutter socket or fixed cable, MID or Eichrecht-certified metering, a 7-inch display and Alfen's Smart Charging Network (up to 50 dual-socket stations). Alfen is a listed, established manufacturer with a large installed base and an optional external payment terminal. If bidirectional readiness or Eichrecht billing is on your list, it belongs on your shortlist. The figures here come from Alfen's own product pages.
