The milestones from 2019 to today.
Three friends had worked in EV charging since 2014, installing and supporting other manufacturers' hardware. Fed up with unreliable chargers, lacking software and slow manufacturer support, they started Volt Time to build the hardware, software and support they had been missing.
We knew exactly what installers needed, because we were installers ourselves.
Development of our first charger started, with design decisions drawn from years of installation work. Certification began and the first partnerships formed.
Our first charger, the "Source", launched, produced in Arnhem by a social workplace. Installers noticed it was designed by people who had done installations themselves.
Built by installers, for installers.
We launched Source 2 with major improvements for installers, along with our software platform, then called "Volt Time Cloud". Hardware plus our own software brought the first 50 installation partners on board.
We moved production to VDL Assembly in Weert. Source 2s launched as an improvement, and at the end of the year we introduced One, the charger that became our bestseller.
We moved to a new Amsterdam office and outsourced logistics to keep up with One's demand. Development of Two Pro started, and "Volt Time Cloud" was rebranded to "Plugchoice".
By 2025, thousands of chargers across Europe ran on the platform.
Two Pro is now shipping across Europe: a dual-socket charger for professional parking installations, pre-paired to Plugchoice from the moment the backplate is on the wall.
